Designing an eForm
An eForm is also known as a business process. Well designed eForms ensures good business processesing of any area. eForms do not need to be designed by IT. eBMS encourages all users to design their own eForms to maintain and improve their own processes and business improvement initiatives.
eBMS have developed the eForm Designer to ensure developing / designing and mainting processes as easy as possible for any user (normally designing and modifying processes could take even the best IT specialists months with other systems). eBMS have reduced the time and cost accociated with process design by allowing even the non IT savy user to design their own multi-user process.
The eForm designer has a drag and drop interface, this is very similar to how you would copy files from one directory to another in windows.
Important Note: Do not forget to save your work regularly to avoide losing hours of time due to any type of electrical fault with your server/computer/power/session timeouts etc.
eBMS Tip: Before starting initial design of your new eForm we recommend to conduct some research to exactly what data you will require to be entered into this system. When researching and designing new eForms keep in mind the ability of outputing your data into reports or even further BI cells and graphs.
eBMS Pro & Enterprise Tip: When designing eForms keep in mind of workflow options. The easiest way to satisfy workflow requirements is to add additional text fields that allow users to post their progress steps into the eForm.
eBMS Enterprise Tip: When designing eForms keep in mind of automatic scheduling options. A question to be asked is "is there any risks accociated with this eForm/process?". If the answer is yes set up some fields that can be triggered as a result of poor quality or even a precautionary trigger to ensure continuous business improvement.

| Step 1 |
Create a New eForm. Refer to Create A New eForm in related topics.
Note: There are three panels that you can use to design the eForm that suits your needs and it is important to understand all three panels to be able to develop a intelligent eForm. The best part about eBMS is that anyone can learn how to design an eForm. If you follow the help guides you will not have a problem.
The Three panels Insert Panel, Layout Panel, Properties Panel should be available on the left hand side. |
| |
| Insert Panel |
The Insert Panel breaks down into three tabs:
Labels: This is to insert labels, headings and, hyperlinks. Labels are generally uneditable within an eForm Record.
Input: This tab has all the input fields for users to input data accordingly. eg. Text box, HTML text box, numeric text box, date boxes, option/checkboxes, dropdown menu and other controls that act as the main data entry point of eForms.
Attach: The attach tab enables users to either link eForms (refer to Linked eForms in the related topics) and also to attach documents to certain eForms.
BI (Business Intelligence):
To add any of the Insert Panel feilds / objects there is two methods.
Option 1:
Click the block on the eForm area where you want to insert you feild / object (it will highlight with a black border around the space.
Click the type of feild / object you want to insert.
Option 2:
Drag the type of feild / object you desire straight out into the position you want it.

| |
| Layout Panel |
The Layout Panel is the simplest of the three panels. It helps se how tall / small, wide / short your object / fields are. To do this simply select the feild or object by clicking it so it becomes highlighted and then resize it accordingly.
You can also add and delete rows if you need to re-align your space quickly. To do this simply select the a empty square in the eForm by click it so it becomes highlighted and then add or delete rows accordingly.
|
| |
| Properties Panel |
The Properties Panel is where all the options for controls & properties for the eForm and its fields/objects are stored. Refer to Changing eForm Properties in related topics. |
| |
| Additional Notes |
To Delete a feild or object first select it so the feild / object is highlighted, then just click the delete button next to the save button.
To Move a feild or object first select it so the feild / object is highlighted, then just drag to the desired location.
