Creaete a Formula within an eForm

eBMS works in a slightly similar way to excel when it come to formulas. Due to the nature of Web 2.0 technologies it cannot be exactly the same and has additional rules included.

The formula name of a field if the name of the field for formula use. eg. excel uses A1, A2. eBMS uses a custom name that is included in the formula name field for an object.

eBMS Tip: A good eForm designer will use formulas, groups and lists/dropdowns where ever possible. To take this one step further you can intergrate lists groups and formulas together to create an advanced eForm that saves hours of data entry and calculations.
eBMS Enterprise Tip: Set an automatic scheduled event to occur if a calculation result is lower than the company standard. This will ensure effiencies and a state of automated continuous business improvement.

Step 1 Open desired eForm in eForm Designer. Please refer to Open an eForm with eForm Designer in related topics.

Design an eForm that has correct numeric fields prepared for the formula. Please refer to Designing an eForm in related topics.

Step 2

Open the Property Panel of the field / object.

Go to General Tab.

Enter the Label Name and Formula Name for that feild / object.

Note:
Excel's cell names (eg. A1, F1, B5, D13...)..can not be used for label name. The formula name needs be used to refer to the control in any formula. The first three characters of Formula name must be alphabetic characters, if the 3rd character is numeric then there should be at least one alphabetic character after it. The formula name must be at least three characters.

Step 3 Click the Control Tab.

Enter the formula into Formula field

Press Apply Changes to save the formula.

Example: There are two text boxes that allow number only fields. The label for the first text box is "Value1" and the second text box's label name is "Value2". The Formula Name of the first text box is "For1" and the second textbox's formula name is "For2". There is the third text box with label name is "Val3" and Formula name is "For3". The Formula field is filled with the formula For1+For2.

Note: You can use many similar excel commands.
